About GMBP

Green Mountain Bike Patrol (GMBP) was established in 2003 as the Vermont chapter of the International Mountain Bike Association's (IMBA) National Mountain Bike Patrol (NMBP). We are a committed group of VT and NH residents that volunteer our time to provide medical, technical, and communications support at local outdoor races and events. GMBP members are first aid certified and many are amateur radio operators. Members have experience with trail-side bike repair and off-road biking to ensure that all racers and event participants make it through the event courses safely. In addition to our bicycle mounted patrollers, we also include a radio equipped support vehicle (or two) outfitted with medical supplies and bike repair tools during the events.
In early 2018, NMBP came under the direction of the National Ski Patrol (NSP) to provide mountain bike support and training to patrollers.
As of the summer 2018 riding season, Green Mountain Bike Patrol operates independently of these two organizations.
