Covered Bridges Half Marathon
June 7, 2026 - Pomfret, VT
A community-based road race. Runners complete 13.1 miles through beautiful covered bridges and help raise money for local youth groups, recreation departments, and non-profits.

Vermont 100 Endurance Race
July 17 - 19, 2026 - In/Around Brownsville, VT
Ride along through the woods with runners and equestrians as they attempt to run 100 miles in under 30 hours. This event is one of the original 100 mile runs in the USA and part of the Grand Slam Series of Ultrarunning and benefits Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. It is strongly recommended that you are HAM radio certified to patrol this event.

Set in the heart of Ascutney Trails’ 35-mile network of singletrack, with access to an additional 20 miles of trail on private property, FLOW STATE will feature product demos, guided rides and clinics as well as camping, food trucks and beer, live music and more."

Benefitting Ascutney Outdoors and Ascutney Trails Association, this running event is "15 miles and 3,330ft across an all-surface course covering the best of the best in West Windsor, VT".

This program is a joint effort by UVM Extension and the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources Departments of Fish and Wildlife and Forests, Parks and Recreation to promote, address, and instill in the general public a basic understanding of environmental conservation, safety and fun in the out-of-doors

Tour De Creemee (previously Central Vermont Cycling Tour)

Onion River Outdoors (ORO), Montpelier's iconic bike and outdoor gear shop, has stepped up to be the new lead organizer for the ride previously known as the Central Vermont Cycling Tour. Keep in touch with ORO and all their events at the store website. The folks at ORO say: "This gorgeously scenic ride begins and ends at Morse Farm, home of the scrumptious maple creemee, so we have redubbed this ride Tour de Creemee. Everything else will stay the same from the three routes - 15, 30 and 60 miles - to the convenient rest stops, the well marked routes and finally the wonderful, local picnic, including, of course, a celebratory creemee! The soul of this ride remains true as ORO will continue to support the mission of Cross Vermont Trail Association (http://crossvermont.org/) with proceeds. Join us for this family friendly, community oriented ride and experience the magic of cycling the most beautiful gravel roads in Vermont on a summer's day!"

Paved and dirt roads, rolling, out and back - this race is featured in the February edition of Runner’s World as one of 14 fantastic destination half marathons in 2014. Leaf Peepers is part of the Central Vermont Runners ORS Race Series and CVR's largest event and fundraiser for the Harwood Union Boosters Club, a co-organizer.
